My personal experience on the course:
For the first couple of days, depending on when the course starts and when you joined the working group, you are just floating with the general population. Making some networking, honing some basic skills. Then the first hammer lands when you are grouped into teams and it is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you got. Some people I just loved from the start. Their passion and selflessness just shine thru all the facades. I met some great people that I am honored to call my single-minded friends. Their commitment to success surpasses any obstacles.
I immediately took the role of the team coxswain, which eventually drove the team to success. I tried to respond to every trouble with most wise answer I could. I had a revelation, people were actually listening to my inputs and implementing them and liking the outcomes. That entrepreneurial mindset allowed them to absorb advices, rather mocking, which you would receive in a ‘normal’ situation.
Our team was from at least 10 different countries and states, but our goal was the same. To be the best we could under the circumstances.
Some tagged along and dropped out, which was grievous in several aspects. Some took quantum leap moves to push our team a wee amount further.
In the course of those 8 weeks, I was pushed out of my comfort zone, worked 18 hours a day, combining it with family life and regular work. Yet I felt the most alive and purposeful as I ever were. This experience gave my inner voice a stage. I was able to touch many lives by selflessly offering help and receiving gratitude in response.
Finally, I had a business that I could deliver to the marketplace and let the people vote for me with their credit cards.
